Dylan’s Divide Book Release Party & Fundraiser

On Sept. 16, 2018, at Manuel’s Restaurant Great Hills I celebrated the publication of my sixth novel Dylan’s Divide, the story of an Afghanistan war veteran’s rough but ultimately rewarding homecoming.

In addition to donating the sales of each book, I was able to organize a silent-auction to benefit The Samaritan Center, in Austin, Texas to help local veterans and their families with much-needed counseling and medical services.

The event featured live music with Rey Arteaga, and a special performance from actor Judd Farris, comments from myself, and the young veteran who inspired the book, David Griffin, complimentary appetizers donated by Manuel’s Restaurant, and drinks at happy-hour prices, as well as macarons provided by Pierre and Olivia, owners of Paris in a Bite.

We were able to raise $11,000 in just two hours for the Samaritan Center thanks to the tremendous generosity of sixty items donated by local individuals, businesses, and groups. Thank you to all that made this possible!
